His inventive use of everyday materials\, playful subjects\, and unmistakable folk-art style make each piece a unique expression of his creativity and personality. \nARTIST RECEPTION & ART SALE\nFirst Friday October 2\, 2026 | 5:30–7:30 p.m.\nEffingham Artists Studios\n105-B North Laurel Street\, Springfield\, GA \nThe special First Friday reception will be hosted by Newton’s wife\, Jeanne Newton\, and will offer friends\, collectors\, art lovers\, and members of the community an opportunity to gather in celebration of John Newton’s life and artistic legacy. \nOriginal John Newton artwork will be available for purchase during the event\, giving guests a special opportunity to take home a one-of-a-kind work by this Guyton folk artist.
