These forums\, designed to promote civic engagement and informed decision-making\, will provide a unique opportunity for voters to interact with candidates vying for various offices crucial to the future of Effingham County. \nScheduled to take place at the historic Mars Theatre beginning at 5PM on April 17th and 18th\, the candidate forums will cover a range of races\, including but not limited to those for the School Board\, Board of Commissioners\, District Attorney\, Tax Commissioner\, Probate Judge\, and Clerk of Court. Independently moderated and open to the public\, these forums are essential to the democratic process\, allowing candidates to articulate their platforms and voters to assess their qualifications and positions on key issues. \nIn keeping with the Effingham Chamber of Commerce’s commitment to promoting a pro-business environment and sustained economic prosperity\, all candidates were provided with questionnaires\, the answers for which will be available at the forums. DESCRIPTION:The Springfield DDA welcomes you to Downtown Springfield for a scenic bike ride through Effingham County. The Ride will begin and end in Springfield\, with staging located at the Second Street Parking lot adjacent to Springfield City Hall. We’ve worked hard over the years to help improve downtown Springfield and proceeds from this annual ride have helped to fund facade grants and beautification projects that have made a huge difference. SWAG bags for all participants will include information about stores\, restaurants\, and events coming up in downtown. We will be raffling off awesome door prizes from our Springfield businesses as well. We hope that this will give you a sample of downtown and that you will come back for a visit!\n\nThere will be rest stops along the route with restrooms\, drinks\, and snacks. Water and snacks will be available at registration as well. SAG support will be patrolling the route – Special Thanks to the Effingham Fire Department for providing amazing route support over the years and for coming back to do it again this year. Laminated pocket size route cards will be given to each rider with both a map and a turn by turn direction sheet. We will be providing after race meals from Frencheese’s Food Truck to all registered riders. Kona Ice will be on site if you would like to purchase a cool treat.\nIf you’re coming back to our ride again this year- THANK YOU for your continued support. We were unable to host the ride last year\, but are excited to do it again this year!
