The City of Springfield has tentatively adopted a 2021 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 15.66 percent.

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the City of Springfield Council Chambers, 130 South Laurel Street, Springfield, GA on July 28, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. (First Public Hearing).

Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the City of Springfield Council Chambers, 130 South Laurel Street, Springfield, GA on July 28, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. (Second Public Hearing).

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 7.00 mills, an increase of 1.20 mills. Without this tentative increase, the millage rate will be no more than 5.80 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $150,000 is approximately $72.00 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $100,000 is approximately $48.00.
