Effingham Community Orchestra Returns to The Mars for Spring Performance
A Program Featuring Romeo and Juliet and a Tribute to Jazz Legend Gordon Goodwin
Springfield, GA — The Historic Mars Theatre is pleased to welcome the Effingham Community Orchestra back to its stage on Saturday, March 14 at 4:00 PM for an inspiring spring performance that blends classical romance with vibrant jazz energy.
This season’s program explores the sweeping emotion and timeless drama of Romeo and Juliet, capturing both the tenderness and tragedy of Shakespeare’s iconic love story through powerful orchestral interpretation. The concert will also pay homage to celebrated jazz composer and bandleader Gordon Goodwin, whose dynamic style has energized audiences around the world.
Under the direction of local musical leadership, the Effingham Community Orchestra continues to showcase the extraordinary talent within our own community. Their performances at The Mars have become cherished events, offering audiences the opportunity to experience live orchestral music in an intimate and historic setting.
“The orchestra brings such depth and richness to our stage,” said Maddie Greer, Director of the Mars Theatre. “It’s always a privilege to host a performance that highlights both classical masterworks and contemporary influences, especially when it’s led by musicians from our own community.”
