Public Hearing of City Council and Mayor

March 12, 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

 

The City of Springfield Mayor and Council will hold public hearings, with regular meeting immediately following the close of the public hearings on  March 12, 2024 beginning at 6:00pm to receive comments on the following items:

 

  1. Request to rezone 30.3 acres more or less, known as parcels S115-2TPO and S115-2D located near Ga Hwy 21 and Beebe Rd in from R-1 Zoning to R-2 for & R-4 Zoning.

 

  1. Amendment to the Zoning Ordinance regarding regulations for signs within the zoning districts.

 

  1. Request for Annexation and Rezoning of Parcels 410-61, Parcel 410-62 and Parcel 410-63 located at 1479 Hwy 21 S in Springfield, GA, consisting of approximately 72.5 acres in total and currently County Zoning Classification of AR-1, requesting Springfield Zoning Classification of: B-1 “General Commercial District” for 9.25 acres adjacent to GA Hwy 21; and R-2B “Townhome Residential District” for the remaining approx. 63.25 acres.

 

Any interested parties are encouraged to attend the public hearings to speak for or against these items. Questions can be directed to the Zoning Office at Springfield City Hall by calling (912) 754-7617.

All public hearings and meetings will be held in the Springfield Council Room located at 130 S. Laurel Street (located between Springfield City Hall and Springfield Police Department).
