Public Hearings – Property Tax increase

July 28, 2022, 4:00 pm - 4:30 pm

The City of Springfield has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 6.01 percent.

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the City of Springfield Council Chambers, 130 South Laurel Street, Springfield, GA on

JULY 28, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. (First Public Hearing).

Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the City of Springfield Council Chambers, 130 South Laurel Street, Springfield, GA on

JULY 28, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. (Second Public Hearing).

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 7.00 mills, an increase of 0.397 mills. Without this tentative increase, the millage rate will be no more than 6.603 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $200,000 is approximately $31.76 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $150,000 is approximately $15.88.
