3/27/2019

At the March meeting of the Springfield Downtown Development Authority (DDA), the Board granted funds to two local business for façade improvements. The grants were approved as a part of the Façade Grant program created by the DDA in 2017. These Façade Grants are evaluated based on predetermined criteria and are available to any business that is located in the DDA Zone that have improved their storefront appearance.

This year’s awards were granted to “Home 20 Customizable Designs” located at 715 S. Laurel Street and to the owners of “108 Laurel Street”, future home of a new restaurant to open in summer 2019. Grant funds are given to businesses for previous year expenses already incurred, or for potential expenses for the coming year. The Springfield DDA Façade Grant program will fund up to half the cost of qualified expenses listed on the application, with a maximum of $2,500.00 per grant. The total funding awarded in the 2019 grant cycle is $4,859.63. Applications for the 2020 grant cycle will be accepted beginning in the Fall of 2019.
