The City of Springfield, Georgia is pleased to announce the appointment of Lauren Eargle as City Manager, effective September 9, 2025.
Eargle began her service with the City in 2022 as Finance Director, where she strengthened fiscal management practices and improved long-range financial planning. In 2024, she was promoted to Assistant City Manager, taking on broader responsibilities in daily operations and major infrastructure initiatives. She was appointed Interim City Manager in June 2025 following the resignation of former City Manager Matt Morris, providing steady leadership during the transition, ensuring continuity, and advancing key City priorities.
With more than 15 years of combined finance and management experience, Eargle has been instrumental in leading critical infrastructure projects, strengthening budget planning and fiscal management, enhancing transparency in local government, and creating efficiencies that will lead to long-term savings for the City.
As City Manager, Eargle will oversee the daily operations of the City, implement the policy direction of the City Council, and continue building partnerships that support the long-term prosperity of Springfield.
